Yogi Adityanath Meets Singapore High Commissioner: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath met the Singapore High Commissioner. High Commissioner of Singapore Simon Wong paid a courtesy call on Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath at his official residence. On this occasion, discussions were held to further improve the relations between Singapore and India, especially Uttar Pradesh. High Commissioner Simon Wong told the Chief Minister that the last time we met you in September 2021, we realized that there is a better environment of security and peace in the state. We were sure that your government would be re-elected. Eventually our assessment turned out to be correct.
The High Commissioner of Singapore congratulated CM Yogi on his unprecedented victory in the assembly elections. The High Commissioner said that he does not find it any exaggeration to say that after meeting the Chief Minister, Uttar Pradesh seems to me as my second home. Since September 2021 till now, the Singapore delegation has met the officials of Invest UP several times. We have got information that Uttar Pradesh is organizing Investor Summit next year.
‘Welcome UP companies to Singapore’
The High Commissioner of Singapore said that we want you to invite our companies to this. Companies from Uttar Pradesh are welcome to Singapore. If the Chief Minister agrees, Singapore will be happy to become the first partner country of the Global Investor Summit in Uttar Pradesh. High Commissioner Wong said that various Singapore companies have invested 250 million US dollars in Uttar Pradesh. Most of the investments are in Noida and nearby areas. We are encouraging our investors to invest in Lucknow and other parts of the state.
Talks on technology and skill exchange
The High Commissioner of Singapore further said that we have received information that Uttar Pradesh Skill University is going to be established. We are ready to extend all necessary cooperation in this. High Commissioner Simon said that we propose that there should be a program for the exchange of knowledge, technology and skills between the government of Uttar Pradesh and Singapore. We are ready to provide necessary training for capacity building of the officers and employees of the State Government. We will be happy to cooperate with Uttar Pradesh in various areas of urban development and planning including water management. Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Singapore in the year 2018. Urban development was an important issue on this occasion.

We are willing to work in Uttar Pradesh as per the spirit of the Prime Minister. The Chief Minister thanked the High Commissioner for congratulating him on the victory in the assembly elections. He said that India and Singapore have had strong historical ties. Along with diplomatic relations, there are strong trade relations between the two countries. Uttar Pradesh can play an important role in improving these relations further. Yogi Adityanath said that a Singapore company has invested 1100 crores in the recently concluded third ground breaking ceremony. The state has excellent performance in smart city project. Singapore can give us technical support for the betterment of this project.
Full attention to the needs of investors – Yogi
UP CM Yogi Adityanath said that Uttar Pradesh takes full care of the needs of its investors. Our industrial friendly policies have changed the industrial environment of the state. According to the needs of the industry, 21 sectoral policies have been prepared. According to the vision of Prime Minister Modi, the state government is ready to provide all the necessary resources to the entrepreneurs for industrial development. It will be happy to make Singapore a partner country at the proposed Global Investors Summit next year. The Chief Minister said that we are setting up a grand film city near Jewar. This is where the development of Medical Device Park and Fin-Tech City is taking place. There are limitless possibilities for investors here.
What is the Singapore institution doing in Ayodhya?
CM Yogi Adityanath said that we have the largest MSME base. There are infinite possibilities of employment in this field. Singapore can cooperate with us for their development. The High Commissioner of Singapore informed the Chief Minister that work is being done by a Singapore based organization to raise the standard of living of 8500 families in Ayodhya. Here every family has been given a smart meter, the families who save water and use the least electricity will be rewarded. Families are being made aware of the methods of water and energy conservation. This is a model, through which efforts are being made to make the society aware. The Chief Minister said that today through Jal Jeevan Mission pure drinking water is being provided from door to door. In such a situation, the Ayodhya model can be useful for water conservation.
