UP News: UP’s Jal Shakti Minister Swatantra Dev Singh said that only one who lives in the absence of water understands its value. On Tuesday, Jal Shakti Minister Swatantra Dev Singh was speaking in a program organized to improve the ground water sector at Irrigation Bhawan of Irrigation Department Headquarters, Udayganj. He said that while imbibing the spirit of today water is tomorrow, every citizen will have to join the campaign of water conservation, make it a part of their daily routine.

Singh said that one who lives in the absence of water knows the value. Referring to the Atal Bhujal Yojana, he described it as a milestone in the direction of dealing with the water crisis. He said that under the able guidance of the Prime Minister, the Yogi government has worked to implement Atal Bhujal Yojana in 826 development blocks of all 75 districts. Swatantra Dev Singh stressed on large scale implementation of ground water recharge program for sustainable groundwater conservation. He said that the water management policy will have to be run smoothly in every village at the block level and also in the cities.

‘Some people are wasting water’
The Jal Shakti Minister said that it is the responsibility of all of us to keep working so that the lack of water does not become a hindrance in the development of India. Everyone’s effort is necessary. Said that we are also accountable to our future generations. Due to paucity of water, our children are not able to devote their energy to nation building. We cannot allow their life to be spent only in dealing with the scarcity of water. He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that we should use water as Prasad. But some people waste water considering it as very easily accessible and not Prasad, they do not understand the value of water. He said that the value of water is understood by those who live in the absence of water. At the same time, he knows how hard it is to collect every single drop of water.

The Jal Shakti Minister said that today there is a need that Uttar Pradesh should become a water-protected state, which is environmentally sustainable and ready to deal with the dangers of climate change. In this regard, the government is making efforts at various levels.
