Uttarakhand Chardham Yatra 2022: So far 26 pilgrims have died in the Chardham Yatra in Uttarakhand within a week. 10 people have died on Kedarnath Yatra route alone. The line of devotees for darshan in Kedarnath Dham is up to 3 kilometers long. Looking at the pedestrian path leading to Kedarnath Dham, it seems as if there is a traffic jam of humans. What a long queue of devotees is seen on the narrow path.

This time devotees are broken for Kedarnath. In 2019 i.e. before the Corona period, 9 lakh 26 thousand people visited Kedarnath during 6 months. In the year 2020, at the time of Corona, only 2 lakh 20 thousand people visited in the entire season, then in 2021, 2 lakh 42 thousand people visited. This time only 1 lakh 32 thousand people have visited Kedarnath within 7 days. Due to this chaos has spread in Kedarnath. The death of 26 people in the Char Dham Yatra including Kedarnath is also raising big questions.

Some arrangements have now been made to prevent this chaos. Like now no one will be able to travel without registration. The temple opening hours have been extended during the night. Now even after 10 nights, devotees will be able to visit Kedarnath. There is no crowd in Kedarnath Dham, so people are being stopped first. Devotees are being stopped only at places like Sonprayag, Gaurikund, Guptkashi, Rudraprayag.
