Gujarat News: If you are strong and have the passion to do something, then age does not become a hindrance and Rambai, 105 years old runner of Haryana, won the gold medal in the national level competition of 100 and 200 meters. Proven right. Rambai of Kadma village in Charkhi Dadri district proved her age dwarf by winning gold medals in the 100 and 200 meters race on the opening day of the National Open Masters Athletics Championship held in Vadodara.
Achieving the ‘Golden Double’
Rambai also broke the record held by the late Man Kaur, who participated in such a race at the age of 101. In this event, all eyes were on Rambai and she achieved the ‘Golden Double’ by completing the 100 meters race in 45.40 seconds and 200 meters in one minute 52.17 seconds. Before him, Mann Kaur completed the 100 meters race in 74 seconds at the age of 101 in 2017.
