This Vande Bharat train is almost ready. This train will be ready before August 15 this year. The second Vande Bharat train set will also be ready by December this year. The prepared train sets will be handed over to the Railways, then the Railway Board will decide on which route to run it and from when. According to the target, all 75 Vande Bharat trains will be ready by August 2023.

Preparations to bring new ‘Vande Bharat Express’ trains

ICF Chennai is the world’s largest rail coach factory. Here 7 thousand to 10 thousand normal train coaches are made daily. At present, there are total 2 Vande Bharat Express trains running in India and both are made by ICF Chennai. Now 73 Vande Bharat train sets are to be built in Chennai by 23rd August to meet the number of 75. In one of these 70 per cent work has been done. This train will be ready in December this year. Its interior work is almost complete. Seats are yet to be installed.

Special type of wheels for Vande Bharat trains

Special type of wheels for Vande Bharat trains had to come from Ukraine. Ukraine has been particularly known for making train wheels. But in the meantime, due to the war, the wheels have been brought to India in a very difficult situation. Right now they are being installed in bogies in Bangalore and from there they will soon be brought to ICF and installed in these trains. Wheels for other Vande Bharat trains can be imported from China. Apart from this, preparations are also being made for these wheels to be made in India as well.

What is the speed?

Vande Bharat trains are tested at a speed of 180 kmph but they can be run at a speed of 160. However, at present, the track on most of the routes of the country is not such that trains can be run at 160, so these trains will currently be run at a speed of 130. The speed of these trains can also be increased when the track is upgraded. Due to which the journey of the people will be completed in less time.

When will the new Vande Bharat train be ready

ICF General Manager Atul Kumar Agarwal said that by August 15 this year, two Vande Bharat trains will be ready. Whereas by August 15 next year, all 75 Vande Bharat trains will be ready. He also clarified the position regarding the installation of Chinese wheels in Vande Bharat train. He said that some wheels were to come from Ukraine in the initial phase. Apart from this, its wheels were also going to come from some other countries. Due to which some misconceptions have arisen. The supply of wheels was also stopped due to the Ukraine war.

Program under Make in India

But due to the personal intervention and supervision of Railway Minister Ashwani Vaishnav, all the wheels are now ready to come to India. Soon the wheels will be manufactured in Durgapur West Bengal and Rae Bareli Uttar Pradesh rail factories. Due to which Vande Bharat train will be completely made in India. He said that except for a few selected devices, Vande Bharat is being manufactured completely under the Make in India program.

What is the specialty of Vande Bharat train?

The new Vande Bharat Express trains will be much more comfortable than before. There were a lot of complaints from passengers regarding the seats of the existing Vande Bharat trains, after which now only the seats of Shatabdi trains will be installed in the new Vande Bharat trains. Prime Minister Modi had announced to bring a total of 400 Vande Bharat trains in future. The first 75 trains will be day trains like Shatabdi, that is, they will run in the morning or afternoon and reach their destination before 10.30 pm, so they will have only chair cars. But in future, sleeper AC coaches will also be installed in these trains like Rajdhani trains.

Vande Bharat Express trains have 16 coaches in which there are two executive class coaches. The seats in these rotate up to 180 degrees. With this, passengers can enjoy the journey by facing the window or can sit facing each other like a meeting room. There are total 1128 seats in Vande Bharat train. These trains are also called engine less trains because they do not have a separate engine, but a propulsion set is installed at the bottom of every other compartment, so that these trains get faster acceleration. Fire prevention measures have also been taken in this train. Suppressors have been installed in it.
