TRS Will Support Margaret Alva: Activities have intensified among political parties across the country regarding the Vice Presidential election. Meanwhile, TRS has clarified its stand regarding this election. In the Vice Presidential Election, TRS will support the opposition candidate Margaret Alva. The final decision on support to Margaret Alva was taken after consultations with Telangana Chief Minister and party chief K Chandrasekhar Rao and TRS leaders. K Chandrashekhar Rao had earlier also said that the anti-BJP stand of TRS will continue.
The opposition parties have unanimously nominated Margaret Alva as the candidate for the post of Vice President. The NDA has nominated West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar as its candidate for the post of Vice President. Elections for the post of Vice President in the country are going to be held on 6th August.
TRS will support Margaret Alva
The TRS has announced its support to the opposition candidate Margaret Alva for the Vice Presidential election to be held on August 6 in the country. Earlier it was not clear whether the party would participate in the elections or remain neutral. After a serious discussion with the TRS chief and senior party leaders, it has been said to support Margaret Alva. At the same time, TMC has decided to remain neutral, criticizing the unilateral decision of the Congress.
Venkaiah Naidu’s term ending on August 10
Ahead of the Vice Presidential Election 2022, the joint opposition candidate Margaret Alva on Thursday appealed to all MPs to vote in favor of the most suitable candidate without any fear or political pressure. She had claimed that she had better experience and would be able to act impartially as the presiding officer. Venkaiah Naidu’s current term as the country’s second-highest constitutional post ends on August 10.
