UP News: The pocket burden of those traveling on the Yamuna Expressway will now increase from Thursday. This Yamuna Development Authority (Yamuna Expressway Authority) has increased the rates of toll tax on the expressway. In this regard, the Chief Executive Officer of the Authority, Dr. Arun Veer Singh gave information. At the same time, this decision has been taken in the 74th board meeting of the authority held on Wednesday.

In the meeting of the authority held on Wednesday, a decision has been taken regarding toll tax on Yamuna Expressway. After the meeting, Chief Executive Officer Dr Arun Veer Singh informed that the toll rates of 165 km long Yamuna Expressway from Greater Noida to Agra have been increased. The official said that earlier in 2018 the rates of toll tax were increased. There has been no increase in tax rates since then.

The Chief Executive Officer said that according to the guidelines of the court, 22 works were to be done regarding the security on the expressway. Due to non-completion of these works, Yamuna Authority was not increasing the toll rates. But now if the expressway authority is to be believed, the management has worked on the safety measures. More than Rs 130 crore has been spent on security measures and after the work is done, Yamuna Authority has increased the toll rates.

According to the official, in the board meeting of Yamuna Authority on Wednesday, it has been approved to increase the toll rates. Car drivers traveling from Greater Noida to Agra will now have to pay an additional Rs 16.50. Bus-truck will have to pay Rs 90.75 and big commercial vehicles will have to pay Rs 173.25 as increased toll. Officials say that the increased toll rates will be implemented from September 1.
